Homecoming Glam Makeup Look ~ 2016

Hi! So I went to 2 homecomings this year with friends. Here is how I did m makeup and some pictures from the dances! Hope you enjoy (:

So I wore the same makeup look to both homecomings since I loved it so much. It was a full face look with a berry red lip color and a mix of brown with red tones for the eyes.

– Smash box Photo Finish Primer
Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer
– Stilla Stay All Day Foundation shade “fair 2” with my Real Techniques face sponge
– Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer shade “light”
–  Rimmel Stay Matte Powder shade “nude beige”
Too Faced Chocolate Matte Bronzer shade “medium/ deep”
– L’ORÉAL Infallible Makeup Setting Spray

– Mac brow pomade shade “dirty blonde”
– Anastasia clear brow gel

It Cosmetics Eyeliner (shade “brown/black) on my tightline
– Buxom Mascara
– Kiko Mascara
– Lorac Pro Palette ( I used “mauve” and “bronze” on my lid, “cream” under my brow bone, “taupe” in my crease, “sable” in my outer corner, and a hint of “garnet” in my crease)

– Hemp lip conditioner
– Mac lipstick shade “amorous”

For my hair I had it natural with some pieces curled and it pinned back with a waterfall braid. For the other dance I straightened my hair the night before. Then the next day I had my friend loosely curl my hair with a large wand.

For my nails I just got acrylics done at a local nail salon. I chose a neutral like mauve kind of color with gold sparkles on my ring finger nail.

Teal Dress is from Topshop
Black Dress (from a local boutique)
Shoes from DSW
Necklace with Blue Dress: from Nordstrom
Necklace with Black Dress: from Icing

And now time for the pictures!!

Empties #1

Hi! So today I have a post on products  have used up in the last month or two. I will include a mini review of each product and if I would purchase it again, but if you have more questions leave them in the comment section! Haha so without further ado, lets go through my trash!

Suave Body Wash– I absolutely love this body wash! It is only a couple dollars, smells amazing (I used the scent “coconut butter and shea”), and it gets really bubbly when you use it, which is something I love in body washes.
Repurchase? YES (and I did)

Garnier Fructose Wonder Waves– I have gone through at least seven of these! I love this product so much, but I can only find it online at Walmart. I spray this in my wet hair after my shower, scrunch my hair a little and it really helps to tame my hair and produce a beautiful curl to my hair. Plus, it is only a couple dollars.
Repurchase? YES (and I have)

Bath & Body Works Body Wash– I really like this body wash, especially since it gets really foamy when you use it. I used the scent “twilight woods” and it was okay. It kind of smells like a sweet soap smell.
Repurchase? Maybe

Utopia Night Cream– So this night cream is like $45, but it is so worth it! It moisturizes my face at night, but is not super heavy making my face all greasy. It still moisturizes my face, but if you have extremely dry skin you would need something heavier.
Repurchase? Yes (I’m on my third one)

Matrix Exquisite Hair Oil– So I put hair oil in my hair everyday to help moisturize it. I love this one because it lasts a long time, makes my hair look shiny, and is not super heavy weighing my hair down.
Repurchase? Yes (and I have)

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder– I love this face powder so much because it adds a little bit of coverage, is super cheap, and lasts most of the day! I use the shade “20 nude beige”.
Repurchase? YES (I have gone through at least 5)

BareMinerals Prime Time Face Primer– This is a clear face primer and I had a sample size one. I really liked this primer, it made my face feel nice and made my foundation last really well. I typically use a drugstore face primer so this one is a little out of my price range.
Repurchase? Maybe

Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Lip Balm– So I went through two of these and then i realized that it kinda dries out my lips and does not feel as good as other lip balms. It feels minty on the lips so it has that cooling feeling, but I feel like it does not agree with m lips. I use the shade “35 too cool”.
Repurchase? No

Cocoa Butter Lip Care Stick– I love this chapstick so much! It moisturizes my lips super good and is not super heavy or sticky. Plus, it smells kinda sweet.
Repurchase? Yes (I have a couple more)

NYX Micro Brow Pencil– So this is a brow pencil that has a pencil on one side and a spoolie on the other. I really like this pencil, but it can be a little hard to blend out. I used the shade “ash brown”.
Repurchase? Yes (and I have)

Anastasia Brow Wiz Pencil– This is an AMAZING brow pencil. Although there are many dupes at the drugstore I haven’t found one that blends as easy and is as creamy as this one. It also has a pencil on one side and spoolie on the other. I used the shade “chocolate”.
Repurchase? Yes, but I wish it was cheaper

Still Waterproof Eyeliner– Even though I am not a huge eyeliner person, this eyeliner is very easy to use. I had it in the shade “angelfish” which is like a shimmery nude color, which is good to use on the waterline to make your eyes look more awake. This eyeliner will not smudge at all during the day, so you can count on it to last.
Repurchase? Yes, but I would probably buy a dupe

L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Mascara– This mascara has an unique brush that I really like because it makes my lashes look really long and like they have a lot of volume.
Repurchase? YES (I am on my third one)

L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara– This mascara has an unique wand because it can bend and is very flexible. I liked this mascara, but it gave lots of volume to the lashes and I found it to be a little clumpy. It took a few times to get the hang of this mascara since the wand is different.
Repurchase? Maybe

L’Oreal Voluminous Curved Brush Mascara– I really liked this mascara. It made my lashes look really long and with a nice amount of volume. I remember that my lashes would look very full and long so I really enjoyed this mascara.
Repurchase? Yes

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara– So I had heard a lot about this mascara, but I did not like it at all. When I applied it, even a bunch of coats, it looked like I had no mascara on. So if you want a very natural mascara this one is for u. The brush was good a getting rid of clumps though.
Repurchase? No

Covergirl LashBlast Mascara– I had heard a ton of people talking about this mascara so I was really excited to use it. But I did not really like it because I felt like it gave no volume. It just defined and darkened my lashes some, but was very natural and not was not volumizing.
Repurchase? No

Ulta Voluptuous Volume Mascara– So this mascara was not that impressive. It defined my lashes a little, but did not give them much volume like it is supposed to do.
Repurchase? No

CK One Mascara– This mascara left my lashes looking really long and nice. I figured out that you could twist the top a little and the mascara bristles would twist (to give more volume). After using this for a month the wand kinda broke, so I couldn’t use it anymore.
Repurchase? Maybe (but it is discontinued)

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara– I really like this mascara, this is my second one that I have used up. It gives the look of really full, long lashes. The brush is pretty straight but does not produce a lot of clumps.
Repurchase? Yes

Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara– This mascara is really cool because it has two wands, one for upper lashes and a smaller one for lower lashes. I really enjoyed this mascara because it left my lashes looking  really long and full.
Repurchase? Yes

Easy Halloween Costume – Sleepwalker

Hi! So Halloween is right around the corner so I figured why not give you guys a quick, last minute costume idea. Every year I always end up planning my costume super last minute so here is an easy costume idea that I used last year.

So the costume idea is a sleepwalker (AKA you just wear your pajamas). I wore this black tank top from Brandy Melville, any pair of pajama pants [mine have sharks on them], and a random pair of slippers that I owned. I put on simple makeup (concealer, powder, mascara, and filled in my brows).

There are many ways that you could add to this costume. For example, you could wear a sleep mask, put your hair in a bun, or carry around a pillow and blanket.

If it gets cold you can wrap a blanket around yourself to keep warm.

I really like this costume idea because it is simple, yet cute and super comfy. (:

Comment below what you are gonna do for Halloween!!!

Life Goals for My 20’s

Hi! So I think it is very important to set goals for your life and have things that you are aiming for, even if they change over time. Here are some of my goals for my 20s when life on my own is really starting.

1)  Go to college~ This is very important for me. I would like to become an elementary school teacher and college is a necessary step for this job.

2) Travel the world~ Even though I have already been to France and Italy and other places on cruises I really would like to travel honestly everywhere. Australia and Spain are on the top of my list right now, but I would also love to do a road trip across the USA. Traveling is very important to me because I believe it is important to experience and see different cultures and see the similarities.

3) Get married (and maybe have a kid)~ So even though I do not have control over when I meet the person I will get married to I would love to be married by the time I am 30 (and maybe have a kid). If I am not married by the time I am 30 I would at least like to be in a serious relationship with someone I love.

4) Get a real world job~ Sometime in my 20s I would love to get a “real” job and not be working at a restaurant or retail store on minimum wage. I would like to have a job that can support me.

5) Keep in touch with my close high school friends~ So I know that high school friends tend to drift apart after high school but it is important for me that I stay in touch with at least my closest friends from high school and talk with them frequently.

6) Move out of my mom’s house~ Even though I probably will move back home after college I would like to be living in my own house or apartment by the time I am in my mid-20s, even if I have roommates.

7) Move into one of my dream cities~ I would love to set roots down in a city that I love and a city that I choose. I am not quite sure what my dream city is but some on my list are San Francisco, New York, or Oregon.

8) Start seriously saving money~ I am currently beginning to save money, but I would like to have an account that I put a set amount of money into each month. This money could be used for emergency things or big purchases (buying a car, house…). Personal Capital a great tool for this because they make it easy to budget your money.

9) Be happy and emotionally stable~ I currently struggle with depression and anxiety and even though those things will not go away I would like to have them under control and be in control of my happiness. I would like to be living a life that I love and am proud of.

So those are my main life goals for my 20s!! Comment below what some of your life goals are!!

Buy My Stuff?!

Hi! So today I have a post about a cool app where you can easily sell and buy clothing, makeup, and jewelry. When you sell an item, the company even pays for you to ship the stuff to people. The app is called Poshmark. I am trying to earn money so I can go travel next summer so I am selling some stuff on the app.

I have been going through my closet and I decided that I would try to sell some of my gently used clothes! I am also selling some jewelry and other items. You can follow me on the app and look at my “closet”. Everything that I am selling is under $10 and is in almost perfect condition!

What’s in My Backpack for School

Hi! So it’s back to school season (ugh take me back to summer) and I started school 2 weeks ago so I figured I should do some school related posts! Let me know if you would like me to make any other back to school posts.

So here is my backpack for this school year. It’s from Urban Outfitters. It is navy with a white chevron pattern and is super cute. The back pack has 2 small cup holders, a small front pocket, and the main, large pocket that has a smaller pocket inside of it. Inside the backpack there is the small pocket with a phone size pocket.

I also have a keychain from Paris, France that I got this summer from my vacation there.

So of course I have some actual school supplies:

  •  Paper Mate pens– I find that color coding my notes makes them look a lot prettier which makes me actually want to look at them
  • Sharpie highlighters– I like the wider tip ones cause I find that they highlight the words better
  • Paper Mate mechanical pencil– I prefer mechanical pencils to regular pencils
  • And then I also have a travel size hand sanitizer because school is full of germs

So I have some more pens and pencils (since I always tend to lose or break my pencils). Then I have some non-school related items that I keep in the front pocket. I have:

Lastly, I have a mini pack of tissues, pair of headphones, and then a pouch from Target that I keep pads and tampons in.

And lastly, I of course have my school notebooks, folders to keep all my papers in, and my planner so I can write all my homework down and [attempt to] stay organized.

When do you go back to school?! Lemme know in the comment section!!

Ipsy Unboxing- August 2016

Hi! So today I have an unboxing post. Ipsy is a monthly beauty box subscription that costs $10 per month. Each month you receive 4-5 full size or deluxe sized products and a makeup bag. This is my favorite beauty box subscription service because you get some brands you recognize and some you don’t know and it isn’t to expensive.

The bag this month feels like faux leather and has a cute design of a girl surrounded by makeup products.

Ciaté London Paint Pot– I love this brand and it is a full size nail polish. It is in the shade “spinning teacups” and is a pretty lavender color.

12-In-One Leave In Hair Treatment– This is a leave in hair treatment which is exactly what I need because my hair has been feeling a little dry lately. The product has a nice fresh scent.

Josie Maran Whipped Mud Mask– The face mask is in the scent vanilla apricot and has a fruit smell with a hint of vanilla. I am looking forward to using this face mask and seeing if it helps my skin.

Winky Lux Diamond Complexion Powder– This is highlighter that you can use either on your face or as an eyeshadow. It is in the shade light and brightens your face when applied to your cheekbones.

No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliner– This is from the brand IT cosmetics. I love their products. This is a sample size of a regular black eyeliner and when I put some on my hand it didn’t smudge or really budge with water!
